• Details:  Embrace the nostalgic charm of old world Netherlands with this collectible vintage coffee and tea storage tin by Van Nelle's Koffie Thee.  The lid reads:  "Van Nelle's Stoom Koffiebranderij" (steam coffee roaster) en theehandel (and tea trade).  The vibrant red color and illustrations, plus it being a square box with a hinged, snap-on lid, makes it a desired storage box for teas, coffee pods (k-cups), or other small items.  Also makes for a charming addition to your kitchen decor or coffee station.  A must-have for any tin collector. This tin is empty.

• Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Very Good Vintage Condition. There is a small dent on the side of the lid.  There is rust inside.  Wear as acceptable due to age/use/wear. The Van Nelle's created a rich history as producers of tobacco, cigarettes, coffee and tea.  Starting in 1782,  a husband and wife team, Johannes and Hendrica van Nelle, opened a shop in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.  The company grew and remained family-owned until 1954, when Van Nelle became a public limited company.  In 1977, American Standard Brands acquired all shares of Van Nelle.  Later, in 1989, Van Nelle was acquired by Sara Lee/Douwe Egberts, which closed all production facilities.  One of the pictures on the lid of this tin, is of their world-famous Van Nelle Factory, designed by J.A. Brinkman and L.C. van der Vlugt, it is considered an architectural masterpiece, built in 1927 and completed in 1929.
